Bill may have marched to a different drummer than some of us, but if you took the time to know him, you had a friend for life.  Under that tough guy exterior, he was a kind soul.  May he rest in peace...

I received a call from Danny Clark that BIll passed away on 6/7 /17. This was sad news. I had known Bill since elementary school.Alot of good memories together. When we were 13-15 yrs. old a bunch of us would pile into the Nelson's vw bus and his mom would drive us to Livingston roller rink for a night of skating. Bill was pretty good and I learned to skate pretty well too.In the early 70's after a bad flood we took Bill's rowboat/ canoe and paddled down Charles St. Mountainside down towards Springfield. We spent much time biking, going to the town pool and going to pool parties. We also would sleigh ride down Darby Ln.hill.The last couple of years we were friends on facebook and he would post thoughtful and caring comments to my wife and I. Bill was quite a character. He was larger than life.He made me laugh alot of the time.I was glad to have seen him at the last 2 reunions.  R I P my friend.I was glad to have known you. You are missed.

On 6/24 Bill's sister, Barb ,had a memorial gathering at her place to pay respects and share memories with friends and family. Danny was there, Mike Westerfield, Donnie Schwerdt , Ellen Grossbarth and me.Danny kept us amused most of the evening with stories of Bill. There was stuff that Danny brought up that I had forgotten about.Barb and family were very pleased that we all got together to share memories of Bill. Also Danny brought a few pictures and  Barb had many pictures to share with the group that helped make it a memorble but sad evening.
